U.S. CONGRESSWOMAN MENG VISITS WITH FAMILY OF 19-YEAR-OLD BANGLADESHI AMERICAN KILLED BY PRIVATE GARBAGE TRUCK IN QUEENS, NEW YORK

News24USA.Com Desk, New York — U.S. Rep. Grace Meng (D-Queens) announced today that she visited the family of Nishath Jannath, the 19-year-old Bangladeshi American who was recently struck and killed by a private garbage truck in Woodside, Queens.
Nishath was one of the Congresswoman’s constituents, and she lived with her family in Woodside which located is in Meng’s congressional district.
Meng met with her parents and three sisters as she paid her respects and sought to comfort them during this very difficult time.
“My heart aches for Nishath’s loved ones and I just wanted to express my condolences to her family and let them know that my team and I are here for them,” said Meng. “At just 19 years old, her life was cut far too short in a tragic and heartbreaking accident. Her family shared memories of her beautiful life and kind heart, and I know she will be remembered by many in our community.”
The accident occurred last week at 62nd Street and Roosevelt Avenue in Woodside, near where she resided, after Nishath was walking home from work. She was also a student at City College.
